Realtor shot at by rival in Najafgarh
A Najafgarh based property dealer believed to be a distant relative of late chief minister Sahib Singh Verma on Wednesday allegedly opened fire at a business rival over money dispute.
While the victim, Billu, is said to be in critical condition, the accused Pawan Lakra is absconding. Police officers have so far said that a case of attempt to murder has been registered against Lakra at the Najafgarh police station and special teams have been dispatched to neighbouring states to arrest the accused. The incident took place in Dichaon Kalan area of Najafgarh on Tuesday night.
Investigating officers said that Billu was shot twice point blank allegedly by Mr Lakra around 11 pm on Tuesday. Billu was rushed to the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri area. Billu is stated to be in critical condition.

MCD worker in N. Delhi dies in demolition drive

A labourer, hired by the MCD, got buried under the debris during a demolition exercise in the Mori Gate area of north Delhi on Wednesday.
According to the police, labourer Ramvir (30), a native of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, came under the debris when the MCD was carrying out the demolition exercise of a building, located at Ram Bazar in Mori Gate, that had been declared “dangerous”. He was extricated by the local residence from the debris and was rushed to Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, where he succumbed later.
The police is said to have questioned a MCD junior engineer, who was at the spot, and registered a case against unknown persons.
