Robbers hold family hostage
Armed assailants barged into a house in Seelampur and fled with cash and jewellery worth lakhs after holding the family hostage. The incident took place at around 3 am in Gautampuri, Seelampur, when seven dacoits barged into the house of Sunil Kumar, 32, and Anil, 31. “The dacoits held a child Rishabh, 4, at gunpoint and
threatened to kill him if the family did not hand them cash and jewellery. They took away jewellery worth `3 lakhs and `2.8 lakhs in cash,” said a police official.
The dacoits also thrashed the two brothers and threatened them not to inform the police or media about the incident. “We have registered a case of dacoity. We are questioning some suspects,” the policer officer said. The brothers, automobile mechanics, run a workshop from the ground floor of their residence.

Cops bust sex racket
New Delhi, Dec. 30: The Delhi police on Thursday claimed to have unearthed a sex racket with the arrest of five persons, including four women. The alleged pimp Sunil Dubey, 29, and the four women, aged between 19 and 29 years, were arrested from Panchsheel Vihar on Wednesday.
A deal was struck allegedly with Dubey over mobile phone. “Dubey said on the phone that he would charge `5,000 per sex worker and he had 3-4 sex workers with him at his residence in Panchsheel Vihar,” a senior police official said.
Two police personnel were sent as decoy customers following which a raid was conducted and the five persons were arrested.
