S-I’s wife hangs self after quarrel

The wife of a Delhi police sub inspector committed suicide in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area allegedly after a fight with the family of an additional SHO, the police said on Sunday.

The incident took place in the residential colony of Delhi police officers at Dwarka. The deceased Soma Floria, wife of sub-inspector Mahesh Kumar posted with northwest Delhi police, was found hanging on Saturday morning. She was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. In his statement, Kumar alleged that his wife was in depression following an argument with the family of Pyare Lal, an additional SHO in the Bindapur police station, who stays on the second floor of the building. The family lives on first floor.
“Lal’s son had dropped a garbage bag which fell in Floria’s flat. This led to an argument between the two families,” a senior police official said. Sources said Lal’s family allegedly threatened the deceased that they will ensure that Kumar loses his job. A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
