SC lawyer hangs self to death
A Supreme Court lawyer committed suicide by hanging himself at his Vasant Kunj residence on Friday morning.
The deceased, S.K. Sinha, 45, was practising at the Supreme Court for the last 15 years. The incident was reported from Vasant Kunj on Friday morning when the deceased’s father A.K. Lal Sinha, 73, failed to wake up his son but got no response.
He alerted the neighbours and the door was broken at around 6.20 am. The lawyer was found hanging from the ceiling fan. “The body was brought down and rushed to AIIMS where doctors declared him brought dead,” a senior police official said.
The police claimed to have recovered a suicide note from the deceased in which Sinha had reportedly stated that he was depressed over some personal issues and no one should be held responsible for his death.

Glitches due to high train frequency
AGE CORRESPONDENT
NEW DELHI
Feb. 5: Higher than prescribed frequency of trains is largely responsible for the frequent disruptions in Metro services but there is no major problem affecting the network, Delhi Metro chief E. Sreedharan said on Saturday. He added that efforts are on to overcome the irritants soon. “The system has been designed to handle trains every three minutes. (But) we are running trains every 2.5 minutes...that will have an effect,” he said.
Metro officials have long maintained that such networks across the world face such problems and it was nothing out of the ordinary.
Mr Sreedharan said that there was “no special problem” on this particular corridor. “Some small things happen and they throw up the system (out of gear),” said the DMRC chief, adding that such disruptions occur barely two to three times in a month.
