School bus crushes youth, cop, hits car

The driver of a city school bus jumped a traffic signal, fatally hit a cyclist and then crushed a Delhi traffic police cop, killing both on the spot, after the policeman signalled him to halt, near a crossing at Burari, outer Delhi, on Monday morning.

The panic-stricken driver then rammed the bus into a passing Santro car, critically injuring the driver, and then fled from the spot.
The deceased traffic policeman has been identified as Vakiluddin, 35, who was posted in Burari traffic circle. The cyclist has been identified as Rahul, 20.
The Santro car driver Pawan Kumar, 32, was stuck inside the car after the bus crashed into it, till gas-cutters were employed to rescue him safely. He has suffered critical injuries.
The incident took place at a crossing when a bus operated by Nav Jeevan Public School jumped a signal and hit a cyclist Rahul, killing him on the spot at around 11 am. Vakiluddin, who was standing on a Pulsar motorcycle, saw the bus jumping the red-light and fatally hitting the cyclist. “He signalled the driver to stop but he tried to flee. In a moment of panic, Vakiludin was crushed under the wheels of the bus,” a senior police official said. There were no schoolchildren in the bus, he said.
The driver of the bus then crashed his vehicle into a Santro near the accident spot, turning it into a mangled mess, and ran from the area. The police control room was alerted by passersby and a rescue team arrived at the spot at around 11.15 am.
“Pawan Kumar was stuck in the mangled Santro and was extricated using gas cutters. Vakiluddin and Deepak were rushed to Sushruta Trauma Centre near ISBT at Kashmere Gate, where doctors declared Deepak and Vakiluddin brought dead. “The condition of Pawan is critical,” the official said.
The police has booked the driver for causing death due to rash and negligent driving at the Burari police station. No arrests have been made so far.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
