Schools forcing us to buy prospectus, allege parents
The parents of children seeking nursery admission are bring forced to buy prospectus by the private schools along with the admission form in the city. Despite repeated complaints by parents over the past so many years, the government has not taken any step to check this malpractice.
“I went to Indraprastha World School in Paschim Vihar for my child’s admissions. I was given a `500 prospectus along with the registration form that cost only `25. When I said that I do not want to buy the prospectus, I was told that the application form can be bought only with the prospectus. This is high-handedness of the schools. I think government should step in,” said Kirti Sharma, a parent.
Mother Teresa School, Preet Vihar, is selling the prospectus for `225 and Max Fort School, Dwarka, is charging `300 for the prospectus. Similarly, all major schools are selling the prospectus at arbitrary prices.
The sale of forms started in remaining schools.
Meanwhile, online forms are a hit among parents. “We are saved the trouble of going to schools, standing in queues,” said Priyanka Kanda, a parent.
