Sheila discharged from hospital
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit was on Monday discharged from a private hospital where she was admitted for a week following high fever and viral infection.
A close aide of Ms Dikshit said she had “completely recovered” from the illness and was feeling much better.
“The chief minister was discharged from the hospital this morning and she is feeling much better now,” said the aide.
73-year-old Dikshit was admitted to Escorts Hospital on December 5 after she suffered from viral infection and persistent high fever.
According to hospital chairman Ashok Seth, Ms Dikshit was dehydrated but her temperature had normalised and her condition was stable the next day. But she was advised bed rest by doctors for complete recovery.
Ms Dikshit had carried out her official work from the hospital bed and even held an hour-long Cabinet meeting on Wednesday where several key decisions were taken.
A number of her Cabinet colleagues and several well wishers greeted Ms Dikshit after she was discharged from the hospital.
