Sheila inaugurates HD video conference system
Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday inaugurated a new high-definition video conferencing which will keep the secretariat connected with all the district offices in the city. The chief minister interacted with the chief secretary and all nine deputy commissioners while sitting in a room adjacent to her office chamber.
“The audio-visual quality was excellent and the interaction was looking like a real face-to-face conversation,” the chief minister’s office later said.
Mrs Dikshit described this as a wonderful initiative and a big step forward in direction of e-governance. “The technology will facilitate in time-saving, energy-saving and travel-saving. In fact, it is an important step towards open governance. The officers and public representatives sitting on other sides will be able to submit their suggestions and comments simultaneously which will help in taking on-the-spot decisions,” said the CM, while expressing hope that the people would become part of decision-making process.
