Snag disrupts Dwarka line Metro traffic
Commuters were stranded at various Metro stations on Dwarka-Noida/ Anand Vihar stretch due to signalling problem on Friday. The trains ran at a restricted speed of 25 km per hour from 9 am to 11.48 am due to the snag. This led to bunching of trains at stations. Most trains stopped at all stations for more than the usual time. The DMRC
said that with the automatic signalling having failed, the trains were being operated on manual signalling system under which they are not allowed to ply at a speed more than 25 km per hour.
According to a DMRC spokesperson, the fault in the automatic signalling was detected around 9 am when the identification number of a train was lost. Subsequently, all trains were stopped and then allowed to ply using the manual system.
While the automatic signalling was up around 11.50 am, many commuters claimed that trains were running late till afternoon.
