Speed claims 4 more lives in city
Road accidents in different parts of the city claimed four lives in the past 24 hours. Four youth riding a bike rammed into the railing of Barapulla flyover on Monday night.
Two of them died on the spot while two others are reported critical and undergoing treatment.
The deceased identified as Rizwan, 26, and Montu, 19, were on their way back from Kalkaji temple with their two friends Nitin, 17, and Ashish, 18.
The speeding bike was on the flyover when the driver lost balance and rammed the bike in the railing. They all fell down. The passersby informed the police. The police rushed them to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
While two were declared brought dead, the other two are in a critical condition.
Montu and Ashish hailed from Dakshinpuri, Rizwan was from Raulpur, Ghaziabad and Nitin is form Madangir.
In a separate incident, an overspeeding truck crushed two men to death at Okhla in southeast Delhi. Both were relatives and were declared brought dead. The truck driver has been arrested.
Dinanath and Ashok, natives of Bihar, lived in Tehkhand. They were going to office on a motorcycle when a truck rammed them.
According to the police, the truck had hit a Nano car also.
