Speeding BMW rams car; 2 killed, 4 hurt
In yet another incident involving a BMW in the national capital region, a speeding car rammmed another vehicle on Saturday here killing two people, including a woman, and critically injured four others, all of a family, the police said.
The incident took place near IFFCO Chowk Metro Station here when the luxury BMW SUV, bearing the number HR 26 AV 0007 collided head-on with an Indigo car ferrying six of a family from Madhya Pradesh who were returning to their hometown after the treatment of a family member at a hospital here.
The driver of the BMW is absconding.
A woman, Kushan Chopra, 35, and Sanjay Gulati, 34, died on the spot. Rajender Chopra, 68, Meena Chopra, 65, Daksh, 25, and Sanjay Sethi, 38, were injured and have been admitted to a hospital.
All the six occupants of the car hail from Bhilai, Madhya Pradesh.
“After the treatment of a family member in the Medicity Hospital here, the victims were returning to their hometown Bhilai in the Indigo car. The speeding BMW hit the Indigo car near IFFCO Chowk Metro Station,” investigating officer Jagdish Prashad Rai said.
“The BMW car is registered in the name of Devender Singh Sehrawat of Sector 14, Gurgaon. Devender Singh Sehrawat is a property dealer. The errant driver left the SUV at the spot and fled,” he added.
The police has registered a case against the BMW driver.
On April 15, three people, including a minor girl, were critically injured after a speeding BMW car hit the motorcycle they were travelling on near Rajghat in central Delhi.
