Speeding cab hits woman, 1-yr boy dies

A speeding private cab ran into a young woman in Dabri area on Friday morning, killing her one-year-old son, the police said. The deceased child has been identified as Manish. The incident took place at around 9 am when the victim’s mother, Sushma, was returning home from market with her son. A private cab, which was reportedly speeding, ran into the women, knocking the duo on the ground.

“Both suffered critical injuries. The on-lookers made a call to the police control room and the victims were rushed to DDU Hospital where doctors declared Manish brought dead while the condition of Sushma is said to be critical,” a police official said.
The police informed Sushma’s husband. “The accused cab driver has been arrested and he has been charged for causing death due to rash and negligent driving. His vehicle has been impounded as well,” the official said.
