Student battles for life, govt orders probe
A day after a teenage student jumped from the third floor of his school building in east Delhi after a liquor bottle was allegedly found in his bag, Delhi government on Wednesday ordered a probe into the incident, with the report to be submitted in three days’ time.
Delhi education minister Arvinder Singh Lovely on Wednesday appointed a probe panel, headed by deputy director of education for East Delhi, Usha Kumari.
She has been asked to submit the report within three days.
A 17-year-old Class 11 student of Somerville School in New Ashok Nagar was admitted, in a critical condition, to Dharamshila Cancer Hospital and Research Centre on Tuesday where he reportedly underwent a surgery. He is still stated to be critical.
