Techie gets bail in BJP leader’s kin killing case
A woman IT professional, who is accused of burning alive the fiancee of her former lover nearly a month ago in Pune, was granted bail by the Delhi high court.
Justice Mukta Gupta granted the relief to Anushree Kundra, apprehending arrest by the Maharashtra police in the case, and said she will not be arrested for next four days.
The court, meanwhile, asked her to appear before the court concerned in Pune after expiry of the period.
Ms Kundra, an IT professional, is accused of burning alive 26-year-old Juhi Prasad, a lawyer and a relative of BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy, on October 13 in Pune, the police alleged.
Nimesh Sinha, Ms Kundra’s former lover who later got engaged with the victim lawyer, survived with minor burn injuries, they said.
Ms Kundra was allegedly angry after hearing about Sinha’s engagement to Juhi and went to his Pune residence and had a verbal duel with them on the issue.
Later, she allegedly set the couple (Nimesh and Juhi) on fire while they were asleep, the police said.
Juhi died in hospital while Nimesh was discharged after treatment.
In the her bail application, Ms Kundra claimed she has been implicated and even there was an attempt to kill her on that day, but somehow she escaped.
Ms Kundra’s lawyer also alleged that Nimesh wanted to kill both Juhi and Anushree.
