Teen driver mows down 2 sleeping men

A speeding Toyota Corolla car mowed down two unidentified men in Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi on Monday night. Police officials said the incident took place at around 12.30 am when the Corolla car, driven by a Delhi University first year student, identified as Ankit Arora, 19, was racing with another unidentified car. According to the police, Ankit, who runs his late father’s construction business, was returning home from his godown in Kirti Nagar.

“When Ankit reached Tilak Nagar flyover, he accelerated his car and was driving over 100 kilometres per hour. A few eyewitnesses told us that there was another car racing with him but we have not been able to trace it,” a senior police official said.
“At the flyover, a truck was on its way towards Janakpuri and Ankit tried to overtake it from the left side but lost control of his car and hit a divider. The car turned turtle and landed on two unidentified persons who were sleeping near the divider,” said the official.
A team of police officials, who were present below the flyover, rushed to the spot and pulled out Ankit from the car, which was lying upside down.
Ankit and the two injured men were rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where the two men succumbed to their injuries.
The medical examination of Ankit did not reveal the presence of alcohol in his blood.
However, the police said the impact of the accident was such that the rear side and the ceiling of the car was completely damaged.
Sources in the police said that the rear tyre of the car was found punctured and that could also be a probable reason that caused the accident.
The identity of the two deceased has not been established so far. The police said that the two appeared to be in their thirties and were most probably labourers.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
