Teenagers missing with `2 lakhs traced
Within four hours after receiving a missing complaint case, the police traced a teenager and his friend who allegedly fled from their house with a sum of `2 lakhs.
The incident was reported from Rohini area on Thursday evening when 15-year-old Deepak, (name changed) a Class 10 student, was reported missing from the Lancer Convent Public School.
The parents of Deepak had come to the school to complain that he did not return home after classes got over.
Investigators contacted students of the same class who were absent on that day but no clue was found.
Deepak’s parents told the police that `2 lakhs, which were kept to buy a car, were missing. The police found that Deepak’s friend, Rajesh, (name changed) was also missing.
Rajesh’s mother received a call from his son who informed her that he was going to Uttar Pradesh and when she asked about Deepak, he denied that he was with him. The call was traced to a telephone booth near the Red Fort. The booth owner told the police that the call was made by two children.
The local police was alerted and the two boys were traced from Gandhi Tour and Travels, opposite the Red Fort, an police official said.

2 held for theft, goods recovered
New Delhi, Sept. 11: Two persons were arrested in the city for allegedly stealing plastic raw material imported from Japan, the police said on Saturday.
The arrested have been identified as Harish Prasad, who stole the material, and Azaruddin, a scrap dealer who received the goods worth `18 lakhs.
The duo was arrested on September 5 from Badarpur. Around 450 gunny bags filled with plastic raw material stolen were recovered at their instance from a godown. —PTI
