Toddler, 2 men die in mishaps
Three persons, including a toddler, were crushed to death in three separate road accidents in the city.
A speeding car crushed a toddler in Farsh Bazar area in east Delhi. Three-and-a-half year-old Krishna, was declared brought dead by the doctors when his parents took him to a nearby hospital after the accident.
The accident happened when Krishna came in front of the speeding car while playing. The locals got the driver arrested. The police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem and a case has been registered.
In a separate incident, a speeding Blueline bus crushed a 30-year-old man as he was crossing the road at IP Extension in east Delhi on Wednesday. The incident took place around 9.30 am in Chander Vihar, when Rajesh Gupta was run over by the Blueline plying on route number 534 from Anand Vihar to Mehrauli.
According to the police, the driver was in a hurry to reach Anand Vihar. He ignored rules several times, the passengers told the police.
The police traced the identity of the youth through his mobile. The driver is absconding, a police officer said. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
In yet another incident, a retired Delhi University clerk died here in a road accident Wednesday. According to the police, the accident happened in east Delhi’s Surya Nagar, a police officer said. A tempo hit Praveen Kumar Mahajan, 62, when he was alighting from a bus. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the officer said. Mahajan was a resident of Vivek Vihar. The tempo driver is absconding.
