Tourists to flock budget hotels in UP, Haryana

While the city is all set to host the Commonwealth Games, the visitors from different countries will flock budget hotels in cities of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
So far, several cheap hotels in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Bulandshahr have now registered on hotel websites and have started attracting foreigners who are likely to visit India for the Games.
Talking to this correspondent, Sudhir Verma, who owns City Plaza Hotel in Bulandshahar, UP, said, “We have registered our hotel details on several tourism websites and so far 35 people from New Zealand have booked rooms.” However, the Delhi government officials expect that there might be a shortage of accommodation for the visitors, which is why many people will like to stay in the near by cities. The city government is expecting over a lakh visitors during the Games.
According to the industry estimates, a total of 20,000 rooms would be ready in the city and neighbouring areas, which would include the rooms under the ‘Bed and Breakfast Scheme’.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
