Trade Fair: Barcode reader fails

Confusion prevailed at gate number three of the Pragati Maidan on Monday morning with even the employees of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), which is organising the Trade Fair, failed to get entry. The bar code reader is also not functional which led the security personnel to check tickets manually.

“I am an employee of ITPO. I showed the police my I-card, but they asked for the ticket or pass which I did not have. We had to wait outside the gate till the authorities intervened,” an ITPO official said.
The police personnel did not allow media people to collect their passes from gate no 3. However, the ITPO spokesperson said that issued has been resolved. “The issue has been sorted out. No confusion will be there in the coming days,” ITPO PRO, Safdar Khan said.

Deadlock on city circle rates still on
AGE CORRESPONDENT
New Delhi

Nov. 15: The stalemate between Delhi lieutenant-governor and chief minister on property circle rates in the city continued with the Delhi cabinet failing to arrive at a decision on Monday. The government is likely to hold its stand of not accommodating the views of the L-G.
Highly-placed sources said that the Cabinet is likely to meet again and take a final decision in the matter, which has become a bone of contention between lieutenant-governor Tejendra Khanna and chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
The city government is not keen to accept any of the recommendations made by the L-G, added sources.
Mr Khanna has refused to approve the proposed rate and had suggested that circle rates should be increased further in top colonies whereas rates should be slashed where basic infrastructure is not up to the mark.
He had twice returned the file, insisting that his recommendations for revision of the rates for certain colonies should be accepted by the government.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
