Truck driver killed after minor mishap
A 40-year-old truck driver died after allegedly being beaten up by a car owner, whose vehicle was slightly damaged when the truck hit it. The incident was reported at Shaheen Bagh in Jamia Nagar on Friday. The police, however, said that the truck driver did not die due to assault but because marble slabs, which he was carrying in his
truck, fell on him. A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered at Jamia Nagar police station. No arrest has been made so far. According to the police, Dharamveer Chauhan was driving a Tata-407 carrying marble stones to the house of one Rashid in Jamia Nagar. His fellow driver, Satender, too was driving another truck carrying marble stones. Around 9.30 pm, Dharamveer took his vehicle inside the lane where the house of Rashid was located.
However, his truck inclined towards one side after one of the tyres got stuck in a ditch. A Santro car, parked nearby, was slightly damaged in the process.
The owner of the car, identified as Mann, then came out and got involved in a heated exchange of words with Dharamveer.
