Truck runs over girl, 2, at stadium

A two-year-old girl was killed when a truck ran over her inside Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium premises, where construction related to the Commonwealth Games-2010 is going on, at Lodhi Colony in south Delhi on Monday evening.

According to the police, Varsha, daughter of a labourer from Madhya Pradesh, was playing along with some other children inside the stadium premises at around 8 pm when the truck, bearing a Himachal Pradesh registration number and carrying construction material, knocked her down.
She died on the spot, following which the driver fled the spot.
