Two arrested for killing youth
The Delhi police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old graduate and his friend for allegedly killing a man after the latter got engaged with the girl whom he loved.
Krishan Kumar and his friend Anil, 24, whose father is a peon in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, were apprehended for allegedly murdering Bhupender Singh, 21, in Gulabi Bagh on May 15, said the police.
Singh was identified after police recovered visiting cards and a photograph of a girl from his pocket. The photograph was that of the girl with whom his marriage was fixed. During investigation, the police said, it came into notice that Kumar, who is working as a contractor with various tent houses, wanted to marry the same girl and he used to follow her regularly.
During sustained interrogation, Kumar confessed that he wanted to marry the girl but her parents were against the proposal and fixed her marriage with Singh.
“When Kumar came to know about their engagement, he vowed to eliminate Singh. He developed friendship with Singh and invited him to Gulabi Bagh for a party, said the investigating officers. “During the celebrations, Kumar told Bhupender that he loved his fiancee and wanted to marry her. He asked Bhupender not to marry the girl but Bhupender refused. At this, Kumar, became furious and pulled out a knife. Anil, who was also present at the spot held Bhupender’s neck from behind as Kumar stabbed him repeatedly,” said the police. When Bhupender started bleeding profusely, they left him in the park and fled.
