Two held for killing woman
Two persons, including a juvenile, have been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of a woman in Shalimar Bagh area of northwest Delhi on July 16.
The police arrested Arjun Pandit, 22, and a juvenile for murdering Anita Gupta, a resident of AN Block in Shalimar Bagh.
During investigation, the police found that the entry to the house was friendly, hinting that the accused were known to the deceased. “The deceased had two mobiles phones which were missing. We came to know from locals that one Sunny Khatri had come to the victim’s house and he had contacted a juvenile. We kept a watch on the juvenile and arrested him after which he disclosed the involvement of Sunny Khatri and Arjun Pandit in the murder,” said a police official.
The police arrested Arjun Pandit and the juvenile. During interrogation, Arjun confessed that he was under heavy debt. He came in contact with the juvenile 15 days before the incident and told him about his problem. The juvenile suggested him to contact Sunny Khatri.
“Arjun met Sunny and told him all about his problems. Sunny told him that he knew a wealthy lady who lives alone in Shalimar Bagh. They tried to steal money from the woman’s house and when she resisted they killed her and fled with valuables and cash.
