UK firm told to point out FOB defects
A day after the probe panel submitted its report on the collapse of the foot overbridge near the J.N. Stadium, the Delhi government has asked the British firm Macalloy, which had supplied the steel frame, to provide details about deficiencies in the design of the structure.
Delhi chief secretary Rakesh Mehta on Wednesday said that the British firm has been told to provide its views soon so that the government could form a clear picture of the incident. The panel had blamed faulty design for the collapse. It also blamed Macalloy for not giving information about deficiencies in design parameters despite the company being aware of them.
