Under-bridge inaugurated twice in 2 days
A road under-bridge built at a cost of `12 crores was thrown open on Sunday for traffic to ease vehicular movement between Sarai Kale Khan and Nizamuddin, a second inauguration of the structure in two days.
The project completed with the help of railways is expected to ease commuting between Sarai Kale Khan, which has an inter-state bus terminal, and Nizamuddin where a railway station is situated.
The carriage-way is 3.5 m wide on both sides, while the approach road developed towards Nizamuddin side is 96 m and 72 m at Sarai Kale Khan side. The people of the area have to go long way round to reach these localities across the track.
The road was thrown open for public at a function attended by additional commissioner (engineering) Manish Gupta and former mayor Farhad Suri, a day after area MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah had inaugurated it.

‘Act against schools held guilty by cag’
New Delhi, Oct. 9: Hundreds of people held a demonstration outside Rajghat to protest "arbitrary" fee hike by private schools in the city.
The protest was organised by the All-India Parents Association (AIPA) which underlined the need to reform school education.
The protesters demanded initiation of criminal proceedings against the 25 unaided private schools in the city which were indicted by the CAG recently.
The AIPA office-bearers have written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking an effective central law to check arbitrary fee hike in unaided schools.
In the letter, the AIPA has demanded a Central law to check arbitrary fee hike in unaided private schools and upgrading of all government schools to the minimum level of central schools. — PTI
