Volunteer injured by eve-teasers

A 17-year-old Games volunteer was injured when he got into an argument with some bikers who were passing comments at the girl volunteers accompanying him in a DTC bus. The incident was reported in the early hours of Saturday at Rajouri Garden in west Delhi.

According to the police, Tarun and nearly 25 other volunteers, including five girls, had taken a DTC bus to reach their homes in Ghevra area of Rajouri Garden in the early hours on Saturday. Most of them belonged to a government school in Ghevra area. At around 2.30 am when the bus reached Ghevra Mor on Ring Road, at least eight to 10 men riding motorcycles began following the bus and started passing lewd comments on the girls. Tarun objected to it and decided to confront the bikers. He asked the bus driver to stop the bus.
However, when he got down from the bus, the bikers decided to speed away and in the process knocked down Tarun. He sustained injuries in his leg.
