Water supply to be hit in East, S. Delhi
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has informed that water supply in several areas of south and east Delhi will be affected on Sunday due to planned shutdown in its network.
The DJB has stated that due to shifting of Kirlokari and Triplicate main near Hanuman Setu, Yamuna Bazar, water supply will be available at low pressure. Hence, several areas in the south and east Delhi would face water supply problems on Sunday.
The DJB has also adviced residents to store water in sufficient quantity to meet their demands for Sunday. “The areas of Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Daryagang, LNJP Hospital, Maulana Azad Medical College, Town Hall, Kashmeri Gate, Mori Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Ramlila Ground in the Walled city will be affected on Sunday as water will be available in these areas at low pressure,” the DJB has stated in its press release.
Even the areas of north Delhi, including Nirankari Colony, Gandhi Vihar and Mukherji Nager will face water supply problems on Sunday.
In the south Delhi, the areas of posh Greater Kailash I and II, Malviya Nager, Defence Colony, Andrewsganj, South Extension, Chirag Delhi, Alaknanda Complex, Masjid Moth, Savitri complex and adjoining areas will face problems.
The DJB has expressed regret for the inconvenience to the residents. The DJB will also be making available water tanks for which the residents need to contact their nearest centres of the water agency.
