Woman, 19, found dead in E. Delhi
A 19-year-old married woman committed suicide at her Seemapuri residence on Sunday evening.
The police said the deceased, identified as Asma, was found hanging in her Old Seemapuri area residence by her neighbours at around 6 pm on Sunday following which a call was made to the police control room.
A team of cops rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The police said Asma was married to one Shakeel, a tailor, two years back. “No one was present in the house at the time of the incident. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm the exact cause of her death. No suicide note was recovered from the house,” a senior police official said.
The police is recording the statement of Asma’s parents and her in-laws and an SDM inquiry has been ordered into the incident. A case has been registered at the Seemapuri police station and investigation is on.

Man gets life sentence in murder case
New Delhi, Jan. 30: A Delhi court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his acquaintance nearly five years ago. The victim had objected to the convict’s frequent visits to his house suspecting him of having illicit relations with his wife.
Additional sessions judge Kamini Lau also imposed `10,000 fine on Arvind Kumar after holding him guilty of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The court convicted 24-year-old Kumar taking into consideration the statement of witnesses and the recovery of countrymade pistol used for killing Kusheshwar on the intervening night of April 29 and 30, 2006. —PTI
