Woman, 3 others held for robbery

Four persons, including a woman, have been arrested by the police for a robbery in the house of a doctor at Shastri Nagar on Wednesday. The police has recovered the robbed cash and jewellery worth Rs 3 lakhs.

According to the police, the accused Kanima (27), her husband Ajay (30), Sonu (25) and Ganga (25) were arrested after Kanima confessed to her involvement in the crime.
On Wednesday, Monica, wife of Sudhir Agarwal, was at her home in Shastri Nagar when two masked men entered and took her son Pushkar hostage. When she cried for help, Kanima, her maid, ostensibly tried to help her following which the two masked men locked them in a room.
They then robbed cash and jewellery.
The police said that unemployed Ajay instigated Kanima, who had been working in the house as a maid for the past one year, to carry out the robbery.
Kanima was aware that Monica’s husband had gone out of station. She roped in Sonu and Ganga promising them a share in the loot.
