Woman, 31, stabbed to death by husband

A 31-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Gokulpuri area of northeast Delhi, the police said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light from Mustafabad area at around 4.15 am on Wednesday when the neighbours of the deceased woman, Shabana, made a PCR call to inform the police that she was lying in a pool of blood.
The police found that the throat of the victim had been slit and rushed her to hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead. It was revealed that she had an argument with her husband, Nizam Malik.
“The neighbours had heard noise from the house on Tuesday night. The couple fight over some personal issues on Tuesday night. He slit Shabana’s throat while she was sleeping,” a police official said.
Nazim’s children told us about the happenings following which he was arrested, said a police official.
“He had asked his four children not to tell anyone about the incident and had threatened to kill them,” a source said.
The police has recovered the weapon used in killing Shabana.

‘FIR against 7 MCD employees’

March 23: The Delhi police on Wednesday informed the Delhi high court that an FIR has been registered against seven MCD employees who failed to turn up for biometric attendance.
Filing a detailed affidavit before a division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, government counsel Najmi Waziri submitted that the MCD had supplied a list of 10,702 regular employees and after a door-to-door verification of their existence, the police, found that seven employees remained absent.
Mr Waziri further submitted that on March 17, the Economic Offence Wing of the Crime Branch has registered a cheating case under various sections of the IPC.
To the lawyer’s submission, the court directed the MCD to supply a comprehensive list of regular and substitute safai karmacharis by May 4.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by Jagrook Welfare Society, an NGO.
