Woman, 48, fights off four robbers

A 48-year-old woman managed to force four robbers beat a hasty retreat near Sujan Singh Park in New Delhi on Friday. According to the police, Guddi Devi, a resident of government quarters at Lodhi Colony, was going to a doctor with her daughter Rajni. Two persons claiming to be policemen in plainclothes stopped them near Sujan

Singh Park on the pretext of security check and told them to take away their jewellery and keep it in purse. Ms Guddi sensed something amiss as the two men seemed to be in a hurry and one of them even tried to take her bangles off.
She raised an alarm following which one robber tried to flee after snatching the purse from her. But Ms Guddi sat on the mud guard of the motorcycle forcing him to drop the purse and flee in haste.
