Woman, 60, murdered in N. Delhi
An elderly woman was found murdered in her house at Sarai Rohilla in north Delhi on Wednesday. The police suspects robbery to be the motive as cash and articles worth around `40 lakhs were missing. In another incident in the same area, a 30-year-old man was shot dead when a business rival opened fire from his licenced revolver over a trivial issue.
According to the police, the woman, Madhu Gupta, 60, was found dead in her first floor residence by her neighbours on Wednesday morning. Her family claimed that cash and articles worth `40 lakhs were missing. Madhu, who had divorced her professor husband, lived alone.
In the other incident, a businessman Jaswinder was shot dead and his brother Ranjit was injured, when their rival Naresh opened fire. Jaswinder and his brother Ranjit had gone to Naresh’ shop following an altercation. Initially, Naresh hid in a corner of his shop and fired from his licenced revolver to scare the brothers. But Jaswinder was hit in his neck and he died on the spot.
