Woman found dead in S. Delhi
A 21-year-old woman, carrying a beret of the Uttar Pradesh police, was found dead under highly mysterious circumstances in Dhaula Kuan area of south west Delhi on Monday morning.
The police said the body of the deceased, whose identity has not been confirmed so far, was found lying under a bridge near Brar Square in Delhi Cantonment area by a pedestrian who alerted the police control room at around 8 am on Monday. A team of police personnel along with forensic experts was rushed to the site to collect evidence from the spot.
“We have recovered a UP police beret cap from her along with some jewellery items, but it is not clear who committed the crime. The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed so far. Some items are missing, suggesting a robbery angle in the incident. But nothing can be ruled out,” a source revealed. The victim was later taken to AIIMS trauma centre where she was declared brought dead. The police sources revealed that the victim was wearing a jeans and a red short and some jewellery was found intact on her body. A tattoo reading “Prem Lata” was inscribed on the hand of the victim. The sources also revealed that there were external injury marks on the head and body of the victim suggesting that she was assaulted before the murder.
