Woman hit, run over by vehicles
The mutilated body of an unidentified woman was found in Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi on Saturday evening with the police claiming that the deceased was run over by at least 12 vehicles.
Police officials said the body of the victim, who is believed to be in her thirties, was spotted by a pedestrian on the Outer Ring Road at around 9.30 pm and he alerted the police. A team of police officials rushed to the spot.
“The body was badly mutilated with more than 65 injuries. Her body parts were found scattered around and it was very difficult to recognise her face. Apparently, it seems as if she was hit by a vehicle and then run over by others as drivers could not spot the body. We have preserved the body in a mortuary and a hue-and-cry notice has been issued,” a police official said. The police has also registered a case of death due to negligence and other sections of the IPC against unknown persons and an investigation is on.
