Woman jumps from Dwarka court 2nd floor
A 34-year-old woman jumped from the second floor of Dwarka district court complex in southwest Delhi on Friday afternoon.
The police said that the victim, identified as Neelam, a housewife and a resident of Roshanpura, Najafgarh, had come for appearance as a “witness” in a case at the Dwarka courts. “The victim went to the second floor and jumped from one of the windows,” DCP (southwest), A.K. Ojha said.
The police said the victim landed with a thud on the ground in the court and was spotted by surprised onlookers who immediately informed the court administration. A call was made to the police control room and a team of cops rushed the victim to DDU Hospital where she was admitted in a critical state. The doctors have told the police that the victim has suffered multiple fractures and her chances of survival are “grim”.
“We have informed her husband, Umesh Singh, about the incident. The victim is not fit for a police statement. A case has been registered,” a senior police official said.
