Woman murdered

A 62-year-old woman was killed by unidentified armed assaila-nts who managed to barge into her house at Shahpur Jat in Hauz Khas police station area of south Delhi in the early hours of Saturday. The police suspect personal enmity to be the reason behind the incident.

According to the police, Shravani Devi, her daughter-in-law Poonam (28) and her grandson, Shubham (6), was sleeping at the fifth floor when the assailants managed to get inside the house around 1.30 am. The police said Poonam answered the door after there was knocking. The assailants took her hostage and then gagged her. They then hit Shravani Devi with the blunt side of their knives on the forehead. They then escaped. Subsequently, Poonam raised an alarm, following which the police were informed.
