Woman is raped by her neighbour

A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour in east Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area on Sunday.
The police said the incident occurred in a slum cluster in Kalyanpuri area. The matter came to light at around 10 am on Sunday when the victim came to the police station

and told the cops that she was sexually assaulted by her neighbours over a minor issue. “She was locked in a room where she has been sexually assaulted,” said O.P. Mishra, deputy commissioner of police (east).
According to the police, the victim was immediately rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital where a medical examination confirmed sexual assault. “Initially, the matter was reported as an altercation that had broken-out in the slum cluster. The victim’s mother-in-law had made a call to the police control room and claimed that some men had barged into her house,” said a senior police officer.
The police said when the statement of the victim was being recorded, the victim claimed that one of her neighbours had raped her.
