Woman survives kidnapping bid

Four youth travelling in a car allegedly tried to kidnap a 24-year-old textile designer after she resisted their harassment. The incident took place at D Block in Sarojini Nagar area on Sunday afternoon.
The victim lives in a posh colony in South Delhi and runs her office from Defence Colony. She told this newspaper that she had gone to D Block in Sarojini Nagar area on Sunday to meet her friend when the incident occurred.
She said that the four youth travelling in a car passed lewd remarks at her and honked loudly. The victim thought that as she was walking on road, they were unable to go ahead. She then started walking on the footpath.
However, the youth stopped the car near her and before she could understand anything one youth, who was wearing green T-shirt, opened the car door and tried to drag her inside.
“They dragged me inside but a car suddenly came behind luckily in which a family was travelling. The youth got frightened and pushed me on the road. They fled from the scene but I immediately noted down the car registration number DL 3C AZ 6783,” said the victim.
The victim then called the PCR at around 3.30 pm. A police team visited the spot and noted down her complaint.
A senior police official said that an FIR has been lodged following the statement given by the victim and the police is looking into the matter.
