Yamuna still over danger mark, likely to rise
The water level in the Yamuna reached 205.77 metres on Wednesday, 94 cm above the danger mark. Taking into account the slight rise in the water level, the city government’s flood control department said that the flood scare is not over yet. An official of the irrigation and flood control department said the water level will remain
constant for sometime before rising again to 205.82 metres. The danger level of the Yamuna is 204.83 metres. The officials added that the maximum discharge of water from Haryana’s Hathnikund barrage on Wednesday was around 53,464 cusecs.
Northern Railways cancelled 25 trains and diverted 53 others on Wednesday due to the flood waters.
