Young faces in new BJP city unit
Three months after taking charge as the Delhi BJP chief, Vijendra Gupta constituted the team of new office-bearers on Sunday.
Mr Gupta appointed 10 vice-presidents, including former Saket MLA Vijay Jolly. Former mayor Kanwar Sain has also been made vice-president. Other vice-presidents are Imran Ismael, Pawan Sharma and Poonam Azad. The new team gives a youthful look, as all office-bearers are below 50 years of age.
Mr Gupta has appointed four general secretaries, including Badarpur MLA Ramesh Bidhuri, former chief minister Sahib Singh Verma’s son Pervesh Verma and Ashish Sood. He named 10 secretaries, including Kanwaljit Shera-wat, Virender Jual, Naren-dra Tondon, Sunil Yadav, Ravinder Gupta and Rajan Tiwari. Mr Anil Goel has been named treasurer.
Ms Shikha Roy has been appointed as the head of the Mahila Morcha. Delhi BJP’s Yuva Morcha will be headed by Nakul Bhardhwaj. Mr Atif Rashid is the president of minority morcha, while MLA Satyaprakash Rana will be the chief of Kisan Morcha. Mr Vijay Jolly, Sanjay Kaul, Sandip Patra and Mawaram Arya are the four spokespersons.
