Youth convicted for rape of minor he later wed
A city court has convicted a youth who kidnapped and later married a 15-year-old girl, for raping the minor and sentenced him to seven years in jail, observing that “on first occasion, he forcibly established physical relations with her.”
Additional sessions judge Kaveri Baweja after going through the case history and noting the victim’s deposition before the court said, the two were not married on the first occasion when Paramveer forcibly established physical relations with the victim after kidnapping her.
“The fact that on the first occasion the accused forcibly established physical relations with her cannot be overlooked,” said the court.
“For offence punishable under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the above named convict is sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for seven years in addition to payment of fine of `2,000,” the court said.
The youth has also been convicted for abduction of the girl. The girl’s father filed a complaint against the convict Paramveer for kidnapping his daughter.
Paramveer and the girl used to like each other. On December 12, 2010, the convict told her a false story that his maternal grandfather has expired in Ghaziabad and he wanted her to accompany him for moral support.
But instead of taking her to Ghaziabad, he took her to Murshadpur where he repeatedly raped her for over a month. From there, the two went to Firozabad where their marriage was solemnised by the convict’s parents.
