Youth gets life for raping girl
A 24-year-old youth was awarded life imprisonment by the city court on Tuesday, after the man was held guilty for raping, biting and urinating into his neighbour’s four-year-old daughter’s private parts after the man had invited the girl to his residence on the pretext of giving roti-puri.
“In the light of the facts and circumstances of the case as in view of the judgments enumerated herein above, I deem it appropriate to direct the accused to undergo rigorous Imprisonment for life,” said the additional sessions judge Kaveri Baweja while pronouncing Pawan, alias Tinku, guilty of raping and wrongfully confining the minor girl.
The court also imposed a fine of `6,000 on the convict.
The case came to light on May 25, 2011 when the complainant, mother of the four-year-old victim, found her daughter lying naked on the convict’s bed and bleeding from her private parts. She was in a semi-conscious state.
According to the police, the mother of the victim started searching for her little girl when she did not come home by 3 pm. She even went to Tinku’s house and asked if he had seen her but the convict feigned ignorance and did not let her in. However, after frantic search of the little girl, she again went back to the convict’s house with her sister-in-law and forced their way in to find her lying naked on his bed. She was then taken to the children ward of Lady Hardinge Medical College.
