Youth rams car into wall, unhurt
A speeding Porsche car rammed into a wall near India Gate on Saturday. The car was badly damaged in the accident but the driver and his friend survived with minor injuries.
According to the police, the incident was reported at 3.30 am on Saturday. Angad Singh, 23, and Sherry Singh, 28, were on the way to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. The police has arrested Angad for rash driving. He was later released on bail.
”While speeding on Zakir Hussain Marg, Angad had to take a left turn. However, on the turn Angad lost control of the car and rammed it into the wall of children’s park there,” said a senior police official.
“The speed was so high that he lost balance could not take a turn immediately,” a police official said.
The wall of the park was damaged a few feet above the ground clearly indicating that the car had jumped off the ground.
However, the air bags of the high-end car saved the two men.

3 held for auto theft; cops seize 5 cars, 3 bikes
New Delhi, Oct. 16: Three persons, allegedly involved in stealing cars and motorcycles in the National Capital Region (NCR), have been arrested, the police said on Saturday.
Satish, 32, was arrested during a check in front of Ignou Gate when he failed to produce the documents of the car in which he was travelling, a senior police official said.
He tried to mislead the police, but on verification it was found that the car was stolen from Sector-58 in Noida.
“During interrogation he said his two associates Imran and Mohammad Ali were working as a gang. We arrested the duo later,” DCP (south) Chhaya Sharma said.
With the arrest of these three autolifters, the police has solved eight cases of autolifting and recovered five stolen cars and three motorcycles, said DCP Sharma. — PTI
