Dishy men who cook up a storm
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of good culinary skills must be in want of a woman to pamper, would admit Jane Austen, if given half a chance. And nothing can be more true. Men who know their way around the kitchen are any day more appealing than their clueless counterparts. Here are a few hot men, who are a dream
in the kitchen on how they got started.

My tryst with the culinary art started during my engineering days in Nagpur. The start was basic — eggs. It was exciting to experiment but one thing that I can rustle up with panache is aloo-methi paratha. My friends still ask me to make this when we have get togethers. Roll out dough to make normal parathas. Boil aloo and add methi leaves to them. Add a bit of amchur powder, salt and mirchi. Spread the aloo on one paratha and then cover it with the other, sealing it and frying on a tawa. It’s heavy, but then no one said parathas are healthy!
The women factor: If you are hands-on in the kitchen and share the work, they are pleased.

Both my parents love cooking. They have handed down that love to me. I love helping out in the kitchen and finding out what goes into my food. I am a foodie and have a knack for experimenting with food, in terms of rustling up impromptu dishes. The easiest dish to rustle up is a chicken roast. Take a whole chicken, skinned. Make a stuffing out of bread crumbs, eggs, butter and milk. Toss in fried onions and garlic. Season it. Stuff the chicken with the mash and glaze it with butter and roast it. In 40 minutes, it’s ready to serve.
The women factor: I think women only want men who can do the dishes afterwards, otherwise they are too particular to let us get in the way.

When I am alone, I prefer having takeaway, as cooking alone bores me. But if I have company in the kitchen, I don’t mind helping out. My first encounter with cooking happened by chance. I was in Italy with a group of friends. They insisted that we contribute to the meal. It was then that I came face to face with pasta — the easiest to make and delicious to eat dish. All I did was boil pasta, stir-fried veggies, took readymade pesto sauce and cooked it all together and seasoned it. Now I am the master at making pastas. Can’t emphasise how much cooking that pasta saved my face that day.
The women factor: I think women love men who cook because they want someone willing to take up the hassle.
