As Delhi NCR is gearing up for the Formula One action scheduled over the weekend, food lovers, who are prepared to miss the action live, are making a beeline to city restaurants to reserve their spots well in advance. And since the F1 comes in between of Dussehra and Diwali celebrations, people are keen to soak in the fun with multiple food and beverage options available during the F1 weekend.

Hinglish – The Colonial Café is preparing for the ‘need for speed’ weekend with innovative cocktails and munchies combos. “Apart from screening the excitement, we are serving unlimited chicken wings and achari paneer tikka along with unlimited beer all through Fri-Sat-Sun. For those who come in and want to share the excitement together, we have community fishbowl cocktails, where they can add on a starter on the house,” says Sachin Varma, executive chef, Hinglish.
Interestingly, city restaurants are offering best of their menu to keep the speed lovers occupied. “Big screens, cool outdoors, unlimited beer and plenty of great food to gorge on, is what we are planning at Harem Meeza. We have decided to serve the best from our Indo-Arabic trail and are offering a bucket of beer along with veg mezze platter or non-veg mezze platter served with three kinds of dips and the chicken tikka platter. Our tikka platter is very interesting, as it comprises of murgh ka sula, dhaniya mirch ka tikka and kesar kali mirch tikka. Apart from these, we have lamb kibbeh, falafel, haloumi sambousek, shish touk and lot more,” says Sanjay Yadav, executive chef, Harem Meeza.
Inspired by the world cuisine served during F1 in various countries, Route 04 in Connaught Place is dishing out a unique menu. “What we’ve learnt from F1 special menus globally is that they showcase the best of their food, since the country is also putting on its finest display for this niche sport. Going with that theme, we haven’t picked the easy options, instead, we have picked wood-fired oven pizzas, coupled with unlimited beer. What we suggest, pizza spinachi is a must have as it contains a delicious mix of spinach and tasteful garlic. For seafood lovers, there’s a seafood pizza which goes very appropriately with all the beer in town. And then there’s the Jamaican jerk chicken pizza which is our hottest seller,” says Nawal Prakash, cuisine trainer, Route 04.
Like other places, Radisson Blu MBD is setting up a F1 theme decor. “We will change the flags, put tyres in the bar, and also deck up the table with small tracks, mini size cars etc. We have specially created cocktails and shots for F1 and named them after the teams participating in F1. And we are serving them with a variety of snacks ranging from fish fillet to chicken breast, marinades and rubs from Texas sprinkle and charmoula topped with sauces like shrimp salsa and walnut gorgonzola butter,” says Koushik Mahato, assistant manager, F&B Department, Radisson.
