Hawaii on my platter
Step into this bamboo shack, sip on your favourite rum-based or fruit mixed drinks alongwith sushis and satays at the tiki bar and café, Bora Bora in Saket. The place transports you to the Hawaiian beaches defined by its tiki culture décor that is highlighted by bamboo screens, thatched roofs and creative lighting adding to the ambience.
The food menu is extensive and a fusion of variety of cuisine brought together by immigrants from America, France and Canton region. There are mouth-watering maki rolls and a variety of pupu platters, which have options from veggie, meat, sea food and mezze segments and a range of sea food that goes well with the theme. We recommend the pandan chicken with chilli sauce that has marinated chicken pieces wrapped in pandan leaves. The characteristic aroma of the leaves enhances the flavour and presentation of the dish.
Move on to the Thai chicken Penang curry that is mildly spiced and goes well with steamed rice or the vegetable ragout, made with fresh vegetables cooked in herbs and white sauce. And don’t forget to finish off your meal with the soft and chewy churros served with hot chocolate sauce.
At the specially crafted drinks establishment we were served a variety of rum-based cocktails mixed with fresh tropical fruits served in glasses that come in a variety of patterns like skulls to treasure chests to Hula girl or an Ernest Hemmingway jar. The cocktails were so deceivingly light and refreshing that you almost feel like you’re floating — on the waters in Hawaii!
