Shots of happiness, over drunken dimsums!

If you are looking for enjoying ‘shots of happiness’ with friends, then head straight to the He Said, She Said Café, the new hotspot in the Hauz Khas Village. Unlike other bars in the capital, the place specialises in shots and is being referred to as India’s first shots bar and café.

And if you have the option of trying vodka shot with berry pulp and juice, aam panna, water melon juice, sweet beetel leaves, peach schnapps, whiskey with coffee or strong flavour of clove, tequila with jalapenos or rum with chocolate or tropical fruits and candies; then not many would be able to resist the lure. Add to that the catchy nomenclature of these shots like garam dharam, machu pichu, imlinator, or berri berri nice.
The place is the labour of love of three close friends — Harshvardhan Samor, Kartik Tiwari and Kunal Mohan, all in their late 20’s. No prizes for guessing then that it is young, vibrant and a happy space to be in. And if you thought it is all about drinking, then change your mind. It also offers a variety of starters and main course in Indian, Italian and Mediterreanean cuisine. Although they might not be the sole reason for visiting the place. The café has a flair for naming. Get started with a raan-e-rum (mutton leg marinated with rum) or drunken dimsums, or pocket maar (pita pockets stuffed with chicken souvlaki). And after indulging in such fiesta, if you still have teeny weeny space in your tummy then round off your meal with desi rumgullas or bevde gulab jamun.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
