Does one need philosophy to get on with life?
A philosopher is a person who doesn’t cry over spilt milk but he consoles himself over the fact that milk is actually 80 per cent water.
On the other hand, he won’t even need to philosophise if he has the money to buy some more milk. So it follows that philosophy is the weapon of the incompetent. For instance, Superman doesn’t need a philosophy because whatever he wants to do, he can do it anyway. So he neither has the need to think nor to explain anything to anybody. But since majority of us are not supermen, we need some sort of a philosophy to tide over our failings, misgivings etc.
What is Ayn Rand’s philosophy in one sentence?
“You should live only for your own sake and you should never ask anyone else to live for your sake.” I have added my own philosophy to this. “Try to make everyone else live only for your sake but by conning them into not realising that” — that’s what true success is about and politicians understand this well.
This column is a weird combination of modesty and arrogance, which you call honesty.
Well, you should know that I am too proud to be modest, too confident to be arrogant and too realistic to be honest.

Hit for those who like it, flop for those who don’t and superhit for me because I get to batter the brains of both you thinkers and non-thinkers who venture into this area.
What should one strive for?
Undoubtedly knowledge. To constantly want to fill yourself with the light of knowledge and to drive the darkness of your ignorance away should be your one and only aim. But you should be aware that there can never be a time and point where any light can completely fill the darkness because each and every beam of light will always bring a new set of shadows with it. So it follows that your quest for knowledge should be eternal and not time-bound.
Why this craze in everyone to be number one?
That single emotion which is primarily nothing but ego is what is single-handedly responsible for the tremendous growth in human progress. Without ego, we as a race, would be still living in caves.
What is the difference between conscious, subconscious and super conscious mind?
When you tell a girl that you love her, that could be coming from your conscious mind but your subconscious mind could be just wanting to have sex with her and not go through the headaches that accompany love. So you should make her believe in your super conscious mind and tell her, “I want to have sex with you” and this you should say with a lot of love in your eyes. Then her subconscious mind will think that you want sex because of love and your conscious mind can have sex without love and its various baggage bothering your super conscious mind.
Why are you against marriage?
Wisdom. Having said that, I am against committed relationships because commitments create expectations and expectations create disappointments.
How would you define attitude?
It’s about having a personal point of view towards everything and it should not be corrupted by teachers, parents, society and religion.
