AIFF to hold five-day coaching seminar
The All India Football Federation will hold a five-day coaching seminar from July 16 to July 20 in Navi Mumbai. AIFF technical director Rob Baan, national coach Wim Koevermans and head coach of youth development, Colm Joseph Toal will be among the prominent names to address the seminar.
The opening day will have former India captain Baichung Bhutia as the guest speaker. Besides, general secretary Kushal Das will speak on the long term future of Indian football.
“We have invited around 70 coaches for the seminar including from all the I-League clubs and all the AIFF contracted coaches.
“I’m sure the seminar will unearth some exciting concepts which will serve Indian football in good stead in the future,” Das said.
“This is the first major coaching clinic organised by the AIFF’s technical team. It will showcase the new philosophy which is being implemented in Indian football in terms of coach education, style of play and talent development,” Das added.
Baan and Koevermans will also impart practical session classes to the participants. The theoretical sessions will be held at the Royal Orchid Hotel in Navi Mumbai while the practical sessions would be conducted at the Father Agnel School grounds where the AIFF’s first regional academy is based.
“The seminar gives us the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss our new vision for the future development of Indian football. We also hope the coaches will provide us a lot of inputs,” Baan said.
