Chirag United for Goan test
Chirag United Kerala team has left for Goa for their away match against Sporting Clube de Goa with their newly-joined striker P. K. Anil Kumar on Thursday.
The match against the Goan side will be a major one for Chirag, as they have been narrowly defeated in all their matches except opening game against HAL Bangalore.
However, the joining of their former striker will be a great solace as the team has been tormented by striking problems so far in the I-league. “We hope Anil can fix the missing part in our team. Apart from the win, we want nothing less. Anil has been training with us for a couple of days and he is fine,” said Coach Nizam Packeer Ali.
Though the team is expecting a striker from Nigeria, he has not jointed the team yet. “We are expecting him within a couple of days. Earlier, a deal with the Cameroonian striker had to be cancelled due to Visa problems . We hope that the same would not affect the signing in of the new striker,” said Chirag United Assistant Coach Bino George.
Chirag United Kerala will be flying without their two main players to Goa this time. Their striker Ajayan and Ghanaian defender Charles Dzisah will miss the next game as they have received two yellow cards in the last two games.
“We have to find replacement and change the gameplan according to it,” said coach Nizam Packeer Ali. Both of their absence in the Chirag United Kerala squad will be a major blow as they had a decisive role in the team in the last matches.
